Welcome to Rewind Movie Club.
Every Thursday, you’ll get a handful of movie picks from me and fellow club members, from old favorites worth rewatching to new releases worth your time, so you always know what to watch next without losing half your night to endless scrolling.
Movie night shouldn’t start with 40 minutes of scrolling.
But here’s how it usually goes. The house is finally quiet. You grab a snack, drop onto the couch, and open Netflix.
Then you scroll. Three trailers autoplay. You check two more apps. You read a review that spoils the ending.
And you end up just putting on The Office again.
On the nights you do find something great, the credits roll and there’s nobody to turn to. Nobody to ask, “Whoa, did you catch that?”
That’s why this club exists. Good picks going in. Good company coming out.

🍿 Who is Rewind Movie Club for?
Rewind Movie Club is for anyone who loves movies, however you watch them:
Solo watchers: You unwind with a movie at the end of the day, usually by yourself. You love it. You just miss having someone to talk to when the credits roll. The club gives you picks worth your night and a room full of people who want to hear what you thought.
Couples and movie-night partners: You and your person have a standing movie night, and half of it goes to negotiating what to watch. The club hands you a short list you can both agree on, from comfort rewatches to new releases.
Families: You’re hunting for something the kids, the grown-ups, and the one teenager with opinions will all sit through. Club picks and genre roundups make family movie night feel less like a hostage negotiation.
❌ The biggest problems with movie night
If you found this club, you’ve probably run into at least one of these:
Problem #1: The endless scroll. Five streaming apps, thousands of titles, and nothing to watch. You spend more time picking a movie than watching the first act.
Problem #2: The algorithm doesn’t know you. Watch one shark movie on a sick day, and your home screen decides Sharknado is your whole personality. Recommendations built on clicks miss what you actually love.
Problem #3: Nobody to talk to after. The best part of a great movie is talking about it. When you watch alone, or with people who didn’t like it, that moment dies at the credits.
Problem #4: Your taste doesn’t match the room. You want a Nolan mind-bender. Your family wants the comedy they’ve seen twelve times. Somebody always settles.
Problem #5: Reviews written for film students. Critics hand you plot recaps, spoilers, and 3,000-word essays. You just want to know if you’ll like it.
Problem #6: Old favorites get buried. New releases take over every home screen. The classics you loved, and the ones you never got around to, vanish under the “Continue Watching” row.
The club was built to fix every one of these.

Every Thursday, you get a handful of movie picks from me and fellow members. Each issue rotates three or four of these segments, so no two weeks look the same.

One movie that stuck with me and a short story about why. No plot recap. No film-school breakdown. Just how it made me feel and who I think will love it.

An old favorite worth another watch. Sometimes it’s a classic you’ve seen ten times. Sometimes it’s one you’ve meant to get to for years.

Recommendations from fellow members. The club gets better the more people pitch in, so your picks can land here too.

A genre roundup or tier list. Best heist movies, rainy-day comfort picks, the definitive Pixar ranking. Expect friendly arguments in the comments.

The stories behind the movies we love. The casting near-misses, the practical effects, the scene that almost got cut.

👋 Who am I?
I’m Gannon Nordberg, and I’ve logged and rated over 1,500 movies.
I’ve been a Netflix customer since the red-envelope DVD days in 2006. Back then, “What should we watch?” meant a queue and a few days’ wait for the mail carrier.
Most nights, I unwind with a movie in my basement home theater. Usually alone. My family doesn’t share my taste, so a lot of great movies ended with nobody to talk to about them.
I’m no film critic. I’m the friend who always knows what to watch next.
That’s why I started Rewind Movie Club: a place to swap picks, share favorite scenes, and relive the movies that stick with us. My picks are one half of it. Yours are the other.
